Data Download: Historical Number of Nuclear Weapons by Country from 1950 - 2021

New plot type! Map plots have been a gap in my data viz skills for a while. I have finally found a way to make them! I am pleased with the result, what do you think?

This visual nicely illustrates which countries in the world have access to nuclear weapons throughout history. Some countries had access to them at some point in history but gave them up after a couple of years. Examples of these countries are South Africa and old soviet countries such as Ukraine and Belarus.
