A bit of a different video this week. I have been dabbling into data animation on the web over the past couple of weeks using d3. Link in the bio to the interactive version of this visualization.
In this first interactive bar chart race that I post we look at the top 10 biggest economies from 1960 to 2021. Although the United States fills the number 1 spot for the entirety of this period, we can see a lot of movement during this period. A lot of countries come and go, even The Netherlands, where I am from originally, makes it briefly in the top 10. Additionally, keep an eye on China.
